Turns out if you're brave (and shameless) enough then you, too, can have the power to misuse the office printers to make small bound copies of your own fanfic -- specifically of a WIP you want to finish but can't open on the work computers, since your phone isn't allowed on the premises and two-factor identification won't let you log in to GDrive.
Today, tiny fic! Tomorrow, the WORLD!!!!!1!
(A statement which is even funnier, I think, when you consider the fic is for Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.)
That being said, it turns out bookbinding is the one activity where I seem to get worse with practice -- mostly because my inability to think in 3D is at this point internationally infamous (no like, literally. Most of my family is in other countries) and I CANNOT for the life of me comprehend how manual two-sided printing works -- so I hilariously have spent two entire days printing out increasingly mangled attempts at a booklet, up until 2 hours ago when I gave up and made a makeshift one with recycled copy paper and just stuck the fic on with clear tape and paperclips.
On the bright side, just looking at it fills me with extra delight, because not only have I succeeded in obtaining a tiny fic, but it also looks absolutely ridiculous. Gaze upon my works, ye kindergarteners, and despair!!!

Last Christmas baba gave me a copy of William Whobrey's translation of The Nibelungenlied (with the Klage), under the reasoning that if I liked a tabletop RPG based on the Dragon Age games (of which he'd only played part of one prologue, mostly spent wheezing at the choices in boob armour), then what I needed in my life was the English version of an epic Middle High German poem most people have never even heard about, obviously.
(Just writing that sentence is making me wanna hug his head and laugh at him so much. God, I love my father.)

The cool thing about having your own blog is that even if your workplace does not allow mobile phones on the premises, you can always rig a post to be a catch-all for your nonsense rambling in the comments so you just need to C/P them into Google upon getting home, rather than making Endless paper notes you'll be too busy conking out the second you get home to read. Which is to say -- this is the dorkiest way of getting around the rules I've EVER come up with, and at this point I should really just sneak in a secondary phone like everyone else does, omg.

y'all, it sure as heck would be easier to post here again (really, post at all anywhere else than tumblr) if i had more waking hours where my brain would agree to use the brain cells the good lord gave a turnip, instead of waking up, getting to work, having a Blast™, babbling a little at my parents on the way home...
then conking the fuck out til the next day.
ah, well. hope springs eternal! someday i, too, will be capable of doing an eight-hour work day and not becoming a sleepy noodle the remaining sixteen hours of the day! (i'm assuming. assuming real hard.)
in the meantime, there's always waiting for work parties (currently the xmas one) and making the best of having access to my phone on the premises, no?

Ever heard of Gladio Amicitia, of Final Fantasy XV fame? Terrible hair, fantastic arms. The man is a household favourite (and infamous) among my siblings, mainly for one particular quirk of his character design which later shenanigans have turned into both a meme and a theme whenever we write beefcake characters: he has a terminal case of Clothes Allergy.
In the immortal words of akisawana,
"You take off the shirt, he puts on a jacket. You take off the jacket, he puts on a shirt."
Journalling has started to get a similar feeling. I have a fairly nice pink notebook irl, and I have this nice blog online (and had Twitter and my sister's DMs, before it), and it sure as heck seems like I've just discovered my own allergy, except it's medium-specific commitment issues, somehow. I write on the notebook, I forget the blog. I use the blog, I forget to use the notebook. Admittedly, it's harder to seem sexy about it, but Gladio Amicitia has a very tragic life in FFXV, so I think I'll take the L on this one, just in case.
But hey, here's to another try.
